Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Central Islip School Reopening Committee has been working diligently on reopening schools for our children to attend in-person classroom instruction. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued partnership and devotion to your child's education as together; we take the next step forward towards transitioning to in-person classroom instruction.

I am pleased to announce that beginning May 10, 2021, all Middle School and High School Hybrid students will return to in-person classroom instruction five days a week. Students will follow their regular school schedules.

Elementary Hybrid students will continue to attend in-person classroom instruction Monday thru Thursday. Friday is scheduled as an Enhanced Virtual Instruction day for Elementary students Grades K - 6, as we work to finalize logistics and spacing issues. Teachers will remain in their school buildings on Fridays to deliver the Enhanced Virtual experience via Google Classroom, including students who have opted for hybrid and 100% virtual instruction.

If you have any questions about our much-anticipated reopening, please contact your child's principal or teacher. On behalf of the Board of Education, Administration, Faculty, and Staff, thank you again for all of the cooperation and dedication you have displayed this year.

Sincerely,

Ms. Sharon A. Dungee
