Congratulations to Jennifer Donis and Elian Escoto for winning the prestigious Suffolk Zone Award. This award is presented by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NYS AHPERD) Suffolk Zone Chapter to one female and one male senior student in each Suffolk County School District. The criteria for winning the award is as follows:

• The student must earn an “A” average in high school physical education classes.
• The student must have an overall grade point average of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• The student must be of outstanding character, contributing to the overall positive tone of the physical education class as well as the school.
• The student must be a leader in physical education class and demonstrate the ability to accept responsibility for regular class tasks.
• The student should be active in a leadership capacity within and/or outside the school environment.
• The student should be a role model. This is a student that teachers and students look to as “living” a healthy lifestyle inside school as well as in the community.

The reception was held at Villa Lombardi’s in Holtsville on November 28, 2018.
