CHIS Students and Families Attend Financial Aid Workshop at CIHS

This is the image for the news article titled CHIS Students and Families Attend Financial Aid Workshop at CIHSThe Board of Education's Alumni Committee, in concert with the Central Islip High School Administration and Guidance Department, offered a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, (FAFSA), workshop for high school students who are exploring which colleges or universities they may attend after graduation. More than 70 students were accompanied by their parents or guardians as they learned more about how to navigate financial aid opportunities to help lessen the burden of rising education costs. Representatives from St. Joseph's College, Five Towns College and Jovia Financial were on hand to explain what their educational institutions have to offer incoming students. School Board Vice President and Alumni Committee Chairwoman Michele Harriott acknowledged the students and their families, and thanked those who attended to assist the students including Central Islip High School Acting Principal Timothy Lynam, High School Assistant Principals Michael Blum and James Crawford, Morrow Elementary School Assistant Principal Mariana Gil, Guidance Counselors Antoinette Brown, Dennis Giordano, James Howard, Beth Moldashel, Megan Royce and Veronica Santiago, and Alumni Committee members Pattie Cittadino, Jewel Carmichael-Jones, Dr. Tracy Hudson, Debra Hughes, School Board Member Glenn Mitchell, Isabelle Mitchell, Allison Philips, Samantha Robilard and Christine Wesnofske.
