The Alfano 5th and 6th Grade Band performed their holiday repertoire under the direction of Ms. Kennedy Burgess. The Cordello Avenue Elementary 5th and 6th Grade Chorus, under the direction of Ms. Alexa Ruggiero entertained their audience with holiday favorites with piano accompaniment provided by Central Islip High School Music Teacher George McKenzie. Mr. Patrick Hait conducted the Cordello 6th Grade Band and 5th Grade Beginning Band. Director of Music Education & Instructional Technology Philip K. Voigt welcomed the audience. Alfano Elementary Principal Brett MacMonigle and Cordello Avenue Elementary Principal Brenda Jackson introduced the music teachers and the young musicians. Joining families and friends of the students were School Board Vice President Michele Harriott, School Board Member Glenn C. Mitchell, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Sharon A. Dungee and Alfano Elementary Assistant Principal Carmen Vazquez who joined the Alfano Band to play bells with the students performing their rendition of Gingerbread Men on Parade.
